The City of St. John’s is seeking submissions from qualified firms for engineering services to prepare a detailed design of a modern roundabout for Portugal Cove Road at the intersection of Major’s Path/Airport Heights Drive. This work includes coordination for tying into the shared use path that forms part of the Major’s Path Upgrading project (City of St. John’s RFP 2023156) and providing active transportation crossing(s) in support of the upcoming Airport Heights to Paul Reynolds Centre Shared Use Path project. The successful proponent will be required to provide a wide range of design and administrative services for the duration of the project including preparation of contract drawings that includes construction staging and traffic control plans. Services will be required in support of tender call and contract award. Contract administration services, by way of coordination and support, will be required during construction.

The detailed design for the project is expected to be completed by March 29, 2024 such that it may be included in a construction tender call for construction to begin during the 2024 construction season.
